Solo safari in South Africa. For my 60th birthday, I wanted to see the Big Five in a small group, within my budget and timeframe. Tony suggested Kaingo Reserve, which turned out to be perfect. The lodges were clean and comfortable, the food delicious and our guide Izzy was exceptional ... full of passion, humour, and a love of hippos! A short holiday in Umbria was made all the more enjoyable because of the places Tony arranged for us to stay. Four nights in Perugia with the underground city, wine festivals and superb guided tours not to forget the scenery and the relaxed atmosphere. We took a day trip to Assisi beautiful place with so much to see and enjoy. After Perugia our driver took us to Orvieto via the hills and the UNESCO site what a view. Our accommodation in Orvieto was superb, the attention to us and our stay was phenomenal. The extensive underground caves and tunnels were a real discovery - so much history, and if that wasn't enough a trip to our hosts olive grove was fantastic not just because of the company and the scenery but the picnic with the bruschetta laced with their own olive oil and the glass of the local Italian wine was amazing. I explained to Tony that our family wanted an adventure in Vietnam. He quickly put together an itinerary for us using contacts in Vietnam who know "the things to do" avoiding the tourist traps. Consequently, we have come away with memories of a very authentic experience of the country. Every detail of our trip was well thought out and worked seamlessly. We were met my amazing guides in each location. The guides made a tremendous difference because with them we were able to really engage with where we were, understand the context, ask questions and because we were with them for 2 or 3 days we built rapport and friendship. For the few days my family were their only focus and they ensured in all aspects we were looked after. They provided their personal contact details in case we needed anything when we were apart and they recommended places to eat, places to shop. The tours themselves were a perfect selection - we got to see the real Vietnam in different ways (by boat, by road, by foot, kayaking, and cycling!) Travelling to a country such as Vietnam can create some anxiety but with the travel information and plan we were provided in advance we had peace of mind. Everything worked, guides and transport were (without fail) where they said they would be and when which just meant we could enjoy what we were there for. The hotels we stayed at were perfect - we would not have changed a single thing and there is simply no way we could have come up with a holiday like the one we had. We had a wonderful honeymoon in Antigua thanks to Travel Tony! The first call we had with Tony we thought he sounded very friendly, polite and knowledgeable and felt confident he would be able to book us somewhere special. Tony was fantastic for advice about where to go, considering our interests/what we were looking for in the holiday and climate for June in various locations. He was also really helpful when BA cancelled our flights out of the blue and we had to rebook for different dates. Tony organised a holiday for us as we wanted to celebrate our 40th Wedding Anniversary somewhere special. We gave him a few very vague ideas (!!!) and he came back to us with a number of options and once we had decided (The Cliff Bay Hotel in Madeira), he sorted absolutely everything for us. We had a beautiful room with stunning views, and all the transfers and trips were sorted. Everything was perfect, other than we probably ate too much! The hotel was fabulous and service excellent, and our room was wonderful. It was a lovely touch having flowers and fizz left for our anniversary when we came back to our room too! We truly had a very memorable and special holiday. This is the second time we have used Tony's services, and we will definitely do so again for future breaks, and can thoroughly recommend him. We had been keen to organise a trip to Cape Town to include a safari and Tony came up trumps with his recommendation of Pumba game reserve near Port Elizabeth which exceeded expectations! Everything was executed professionally, in good time, and with a human touch.
