We would like to share some of what we learnt on our recent visit to this beautiful island. Grenada is the ‘spice island’ of the Caribbean, so named because of its production of Nutmeg and Mace and is a truly unspoilt Caribbean experience waiting to welcome you.
This lovely island has one of the most spectacular beaches in the whole of the Caribbean. Grand Anse Beach on the west coastline is 2kms of powdery white sand and home to some of the finest beach resorts on the island. A beach of this size ensures that you can always find a private spot to soak up the rays throughout the day until the evening comes, when you can enjoy the most beautiful of Caribbean sunsets.
Grenada is more than just a beach destination, touring the island you can enjoy the majestic St Margaret Falls, Concord Falls and Seven Sisters Falls. The capital of St George on the south-west coast is a colourful, picturesque harbour and a hub of trade and tourism, fringed with historical buildings, businesses and waterside dining. North of St George in Molinere you will find the Underwater Sculpture Park, a collection of ecological contemporary art created by British sculptor, Jason Decaires Taylor in 2006; a must for snorkelling and diving fans.
Of the many Forts on the island, Fort Frederick, completed in 1791 commands the most breath-taking view of the inland mountains, the steepled St George skyline and extensive portions of the southern and western coastlines.
We want to encourage you to experience Grenada for yourself. You will fall in love with the culture, the beauty of the island, the music and definitely the rum!
